Saga Communications has announced the appointment of Pat Paxton as Senior Vice President of Content.
Paxton most recently served as Chief Programming Officer for Audacy from 2004 until exiting in August 2021. Paxton joined then-Entercom as Operations Manager of Rhythmic AC “Star 93.7” WQSX Boston before moving to the corporate role in 2004 and also led the company’s Content Innovation Group producing original digital and social content and syndicating local show. Prior to joining Entercom, Paxton started his career in South Dakota and would work in Sioux City IA, La Crosse WI, and Huntington WV holding corporate roles for Cardinal Communications and Adventure Radio Group. Paxton also programmed KHMX Houston and WOMX Orlando and was National Programming Director of Nationwide Communications. .
Current Saga Director of Group Programming Scott Chase will relocate to Ocala FL for family reasons taking on the role of Operations Manager of that cluster and will assist Paxton in his new role.

Paxton’s career began in South Dakota, immediately following his graduation from the University of South Dakota. He then ventured to Sioux City, Iowa, assuming the role of Program Director at KGLI, where he eventually became Group Program Director at Cardinal Communications. He then worked in La Crosse, WI and Huntington, WVA where he served as Group Program Director for Adventure Communications. He then traveled to Orlando, Houston and then ascended to National Program Director for Nationwide Communications.
Most recently Pat dedicated 22 years to Audacy, where he left an indelible mark on the company and the industry. Chris Forgy, CEO of Saga said, “Pat is a world class broadcaster and an even better coach. We are delighted to have Pat join our team at Saga; and having this be the last job Pat ever has.”Pat will begin his new adventure at Saga on June 26, 2023.
Scott Chase will be relocating to the Saga cluster in Ocala, Florida for family reasons and will serve as Ocala’s Operations Manager and Saga’s Group Program Director. Scott will assist Pat Paxton in Pat’s new role as Senior Vice President of Content.
