A pair of Flinn Broadcasting stations in Memphis will flip to Talk next week in partnership with Mark Skoda’s MPS Broadcasting. Adult Standards 1210 WMPS and AAA “87.7 The Pig” WPGF-LP will flip to Talk as “WMPS The Point” on Monday, February 21. The new format will be in direct competition with Clear Channel’s 600 WREC and Legacy Media’s 990 KWAM.
The station’s lineup will feature a local show hosted by Skoda from 4 to 7pm and syndicated programming the remainder of the day. The full lineup includes:
5am: Steve Gill (based out of 1510 WLAC Nashville)
8am: Mike Gallagher
11am: Matthew Hill (based out of Memphis based IRN)
12pm: News & Views (Another IRN show)
2pm: Doug Urbanski (Recently launched Westwood One program)
4pm: Mark Skoda (Self described as the founder of the Memphis Tea Party movement)
7pm: Dennis Miller
8pm: Rusty Humphries
11pm: Dennis Miller
1am: Jim Bohannon
4am: First Light
No word on if Flinn will move his pet Pig AAA format to another signal. Flinn also owns CHR simulcast “The Q” 96.1 WIVG/107.5 WHBQ-FM, Rhythmic CHR “Hot 107.1” KXHT, “Sports 56” WHBQ, Radio Disney 1430 WOWW, and Spanish “Radio Ambiente” 1030 WGSF in the Memphis market.
