Update 7/15: EMF took over 97.1 WRQQ at 12am this morning as Blood, Sweat & Tears “You Make Me So Very Happy” gave way to K-Love and Michael W. Smith’s “Breathe”. New WLVU calls, which had been in use at EMF’s 88.5 in Halifax, PA are now in use.
Original Report 7/10: The deal to bring WABD Mobile to 97.5, will also bring K-Love programming into Nashville.
EMF Broadcasting is swapping the license of 97.5 WLVM Mobile to Cumulus for “Classic Hits 97.1” WRQQ Belle Meade/Nashville. WRQQ is one of two Nashville stations Cumulus was required to spin-off in order to complete its merger with Citadel Broadcasting last year.
EMF will begin operating WRQQ via a Time Brokerage Agreement by Monday, July 16. It will join a crowded Christian music battle with Way Media’s “88.7 Way-FM” WAYM and Salem’s “94 The Fish” 93.7 WFFI/94.1 WFFH
Wouldn’t selling WRQQ allow Cumulus to pull 92Q (WQQK) out of the Volt Trust, leaving only i106 (WNFN) in there?
Cumulus should be able to pull WQQK or WNFN out of the trust once the sale of WRQQ closes.
