With the debut of EMF Broadcasting’s Christian AC “K-Love” on 97.1 WLVU this morning, Salem Communications has quickly acted to protect its incumbent “94 FM The Fish“.
What was a simulcast of 93.7 WFFI Kingston Springs serving Nashville’s western suburbs and 94.1 WFFH Smyrna covering the eastern portions of the market is now a trimulcast. Salem’s Southern Gospel “Solid Gospel 105” 104.9 WBOZ Woodbury is now airing the “Fish” programming to the southeastern reaches of the market, specifically Murfreesboro.
The station’s website features the following message regarding the changes:
If you were a listener to Solid Gospel as heard on 104.9FM, we thank you for your years of tuning in. As you may know, the predominant population area covered by the 104.9FM signal is Rutherford County, Tennessee, and with the changing makeup of the county, to Tennessee’s fastest growing and absolute youngest of 95 counties, the stewardship of that frequency has shifted to reaching the region’s young families with an encouraging and life impacting message.
