Midwest Communications is shaking up its recently acquired Sioux Falls, SD cluster at midnight tonight.
News/Talk 1320 KELO will begin simulcasting on 107.9 where it displaces Classic Hits “Kool 107.9” KXQL. The “Kool” brand will be merged with the programming of Variety Hits “Q95.7” KSQB. The new “Kool 95.7” will feature music from the 60’s through the 80’s.
Midwest acquired the Sioux Falls cluster from Backyard Broadcasting in July 2012 for $13.35 Million. In addition to the stations mentioned above, Midwest owns Sports 1230 KWSN, AC “Lite 92.5” KELO-FM, Country 101.9 KTWB, and Active Rock “Real Rock 103.7” KRRO in the market.
Some call changes… KXQL 107.9 now KELQ (as KELO-FM already belongs to clustermate 92.5). KSQB-FM 95.7 now KQSF.
