Emmis has flipped “Comedy 102.7” K274AX Austin to Spanish CHR “Latino 102.7“.
The translator was one of the first terrestrial outlets to pick up the Comedy format and in the process was one of the highest rated translator fed HD signals in the nation, with a 2.1 share in last month’s PPMs. The Comedy format debuted in October 2011.
The station lists Pitbull, Shakira, Maná, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce, Camila, Rihanna, will.i.am, Swedish House Mafia as core artists for the new format which pairs the station with sister Regional Mexican “107.1 La Z” KLZT in Emmis’ cluster. With the format change, the translator shifts its originating feed from 93.3 KGSR-HD3 to 107.1 KLZT-HD2.
