Its getting hard to miss Oldies “Cool 100” when scanning the dial in Binghamton, NY.
Equinox Broadcasting has flipped Hot AC “Q106.7” WRRQ Port Dickinson, NY to a simulcast of 100.5 WCDW Susquehanna, PA. The move gives the format a full powered signal covering Binghamton proper as the station had been heard on a rimshot from the east of the city and a string of translators to boost its signal in Binghamton and neighboring Endwell. Those translators, 99 watt 95.1 W236AP Binghamton, 14 watt 101.1 W266BK Endwell, and 57 watt W275BC Chenango Bridge continue to rebroadcast “Cool 100” at the current time.
Equinox also operates a string of addition formats via translators rebroadcasting HD subchannels of WRRQ. Those are Rock “Z93” 92.9 W225BC Endicott, Alternative “104.5 The Drive” W283AG Chenango Bridge, and Soft AC “Sunny 107.1” W296BS Johnson City.
Ever since 680 WINR went 70s-80s Oldies to feed the 96.9 translator, there has been an uproar of people wanting their real oldies. It’s understandable.
