Cumulus has concluded its reshaping of its Salt Lake City cluster as it flips Active Rock “94.9 Z-Rock” KHTB Provo to Alternative “Alt 94.9“.
The move is the third adjustment the company has made to its cluster over the past two months following the shift of “B98.7” KBEE from AC to Adult CHR and the flip of Adult Alternative “101.9 The End” KENZ to Classic Hits. The remainder of Cumulus’ Salt Lake City cluster includes Country “93.3 K-Bull” KUBL, Rock 101.1 KBER, Talk 860 KKAT, and Sports “1320 KFAN” KFNZ.
The new format is positioned as “Everything Alternative”. The existing “Rock Show” morning show hosted by Howie Rock will remain but rebranded as the “Half-Assed Morning Show”. Monroe remains in middays and Victor Cade in nights, while former KENZ PD/Afternoon host Tysen Web moves over to 94.9 replacing Darby.
The first hour of “Alt 94.9” consisted of:
Young The Giant – My Body
Nirvana – About A Girl
Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man
M83 – Midnight City
Blink 182 – All The Small Things
Incubus – Drive
Grouplove – Tounge Tied
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside
Alex Clare – Too Close
Green Day – Welcome To Paradise
Coldplay – Clocks
Death Cab For Cutie – I Will Possess Your Heart
