BCDayton Broadcasting has launched Urban Oldies “The Soul Of Dayton” on 98.7 W254BA Riverside, OH.
Being fed by Cox’ 99.1 WHKO-HD3, the translator is resurrecting the brand and identity used by 107.7 WDAO in the 70’s and early 80’s. The WDAO calls are now in use by 1210 AM in the market.
The station is promoting it will launch with 15,000 songs commercial free and core artists of the Isley Brothers, Ohio Players, Heatwave, Zapp, Faze-O and Lakeside.
W254BA currently operates with 55 watts and has a CP to relocate to Dayton with 56 watts. The translator is owned by Bradlee Beer, who also serves as PD of “Ultimate Oldies” 97.5 WSWO-LP as “Brad LaBarr”. He also owns 101.1 W266BG Dayton that will be programmed by Cox once it completes its CP to upgrade from 20 to 99 watts.
