  1. What an operational PITA! Hand-editing (digital) every track? It reminds me of Quick96, a stunt in Seattle years ago: http://www.seattlepi.com/ae/tv/article/Radio-Beat-Songs-will-fly-by-in-KBTB-FM-s-new-1088276.php

  2. Considering the current state of popular music, this approach may not be all that bad a thing.

  3. Listening. I’m not hearing any liners. A lot of songs.

Song cutting has always been a common thing. AC formats in the 80s for example had shorter versions of songs.

For example, Paul Davis’ “Cool Night” is 3:22. Bonneville had an edit cutting it down to 2:35. It was seamless. They just cut a few parts of the chorus that would normally repeat a number of times ending the song faster.

What I hear here is a mix of that, combined with some pitch shifting, and almost no liners or imaging. Just a bunch of songs. If a DJ talks, it’s over the intro of a song.
