The holiday season didn’t lead to a shutdown of activity at the FCC as many applications and sales continued to proceed through the Christmas break.
Starting in New York City with a pair of AM’s seeking adjusted facilities. New York Public Radio’s 820 WNYC has proposed a new night operation where it will drop power from 1kW to 930 watts with a new directional array with no changes to its 10kW daytime signal. Radio Vision Cristiana’s 1330 WWRV is attempting to relocate to the tower of 1480 WZRC while remaining at 10kW daytime, but doubling from 5 to 10kW at night.
Univision’s 1270 KFLC Fort Worth, TX has applied to change city of license to Benbrook. Benbrook is the current COL of sister 107.1 KESS. Is this a first step in a relocation of KESS?

The FCC has approved the long-standing application of Radio Power Inc.’s 97.9 W250BN West Allis, WI into Milwaukee. The move, which was delayed due to the FCC’s crackdown on translators using multiple hops to move long distances before being granted since the agency approved the first few steps. The grant will enable the sale of the translator to El Sol Broadcasting filed in August 2012 to proceed. El Sol will utilize W250BN to rebroadcast Regional Mexican 1460 WJTI West Allis.
Berkshire Broadcasting’s 107.3 W297AN Danbury, CT has applied to increase from 21 to 99 watts. The translator rebroadcasts Classic Hits “B107.3” 850 WAXB Ridgefield.

Here’s a good question – Does Clear Channel know or even CARE that Edgewater is using THEIR station (allegedly) as the “repeater” for their own WLIT? Did they give them permission? Because we all know how this ends. They repeat WLIT long enough to get the green light and once the FCC guy is gone – BAM! They flip it to one of their religious networks. As they do a zillion times before
What I can’t understand is why doesn’t anybody raise hell about this? If I were a station owner, I would not want this organization using my station as a means of getting their slimy hands on another translator for their religious network. And why aren’t the rules changed to prevent this from happening?
