Blueberry Broadcasting has launched a new AC trimulcast in Central Maine.
“Kiss 94.5” WKSQ Ellsworth is now simulcasting its programming on 97.5 WQSK Madison and 102.5 WQSS Camden. The expansion gives WKSQ full coverage of both the Bangor and Augusta/Waterville markets.
WQSK (formerly WIGY) had begun simulcasting WKSQ last fall after dropping its previous CBS Sports programming. WQSS had been running its own AC format as “Midcoast 102.5“. Blueberry CEO Bruce Biette told the Penobscot Bay Pilot that no full-time staffers lost their positions with the change, but one part-timer did depart.
“Bob and Sherri is a syndicated show that we’ve had on for a long, long time. And we’ve had them on the KISS brand and are looking forward to bring them to the Midcoast area. In terms of efficiency, we had these stations that used the AC format and we felt it was the best use of our resources to put them under one brand.”
Blueberry Broadcasting runs similar trimulcasts for Country “The Bear“, Classic Hits “Big 104“, and Rock “WTOS” in Maine’s Midcoast.
