Cox Hot Talk “102.5 The Bone” WHPT Tampa afternoon host Mike Calta is adding a second show that will be syndicated to sister stations in Atlanta and Orlando.
The syndication will bring the show to Cox sister News/Talk 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB Atlanta and “News 96.5” WDBO Orlando. The stations will begin airing Calta’s second program from 10pm to 12am starting tonight, which will also be carried on WHPT.
Until last week Calta’s entire broadcast career had been under the name “Cowhead”. In preparation for the entry into syndication, Calta held a funeral for the Cowhead moniker which dated back to his entry into radio in 1992 as a sidekick of Bubba The Love Sponge at “The Power Pig” 93.3 WFLZ. At one point his then morning show at WHPT was syndicated to Jacksonville.
At WSB Calta replaces Mark Arum, while his show takes the place of the syndicated Mark Levin at WDBO.
Mark Arum just tweeted he was just “filling in” for him for the next 3 days. https://twitter.com/MarkArum
Lance, unfortunately I don’t know where you got your insight on this one, but the story is untrue! I am aware of the fact that Mike signed a five-year contract to remain on the bone, but the bone is running its own live show in that date parts, and the other two stations are still running their respective shows! Update would be appreciated. Thanks
