iHeartMedia Greensboro announces the debut of “105.7 The Triad’s New Choice for Rock,” flipping Alternative WVBZ-FM “105.7 The Buzz” to Rock beginning Friday, May 22 at 6am. 105.7 will feature artists such as Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, Nirvana, AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park and more. The Triad’s 105.7 will also have limited commercial interruption thru the holiday weekend.
“The station will be made up of the best rock of all time, from Soundgarden to Motley Crue,” said Program Director Keith Allen. “105.7 will provide Triad listeners the choice to listen to music in the morning and not wait till lunchtime. Plus they won’t have to listen to a station that only plays one or two rock songs every blue moon. Now, is the Triad ready to Man Up?”
Since KBRU Oklahoma City started the “Man UP” campaign, the station has gotten rather good lately.
The “MAN UP!” positioner was first used by iHeart in Salt Lake City, at Rock 106.5, where it is still used to this day.
The success of Rock 106.5 has Cumulus’ K-BEAR 101 on life support.
