CBS San Francisco Relaunches PulseRadio
Currently playing current Dance music, the new format will feature a mix of current and classic Dance as well as “pop hits that reflect the LGBTQ community”. The revamped station will also KMVQ morning hosts Fernando & Greg and afternoon host St. John will pull double duty as the on-air hosts of Pulse Radio. Positioned as “Pride. Music. Community.” the new station will focus on the LGBT community in San Francisco.
INSTANT INSIGHT: Following the launch of Indie 105, we have to commend CBS Radio San Francisco for putting money and promotional efforts beyond their HD2 subchannels. If other broadcasters were to follow suit, perhaps there is still a chance HDRadio could become a viable effort to reach listeners with formats missing from the analog radio dial.
99.7 [Now!] (KMVQ-FM) is launching PULSE at noon. It will be on our HD2 channel and will also be available on the Radio.com app. It will be streamed at www.pulseradio.com.
PULSE is “pride plus music plus community”. It is a mix of dance, electronic, and pop hits that reflect the LGBTQ community.
99.7 [Now!]’s Fernando and Greg and St. John will be the on-air DJs.
“PULSE is all about celebrating pride and community through a love of music. We’re thrilled to make PULSE a destination for new and classic dance music, surrounded by the unique lifestyle and culture that only the LBGTQ community can offer” said Michael Martin, SVP of Programming and Music Initiatives, Program Director 997 NOW, ALICE@97.3 CBS Radio San Francisco.
“So excited for the beginning of something very special. PULSE is bringing our diverse community together through the powerful force of music, and I can’t wait for everyone to feel it!” adds Fernando.
“I’m excited to be a part of the launch for PULSE bringing dance music back to the community. PULSE will be a place of great diversity, pride, and fun, 365 days a year“ adds Greg.
“Only need one word to describe this station… FIERCE!!! Totally excited to bring great dance music and community to the Bay Area (and the world with radio.com)! PULSE!” adds St. John.
