Fordham University AAA 90.7 WFUV New York is shutting down its “Alternate Side” Alternative music HD subchannel/webcast/partial simulcast.
The Alternate Side currently airs on the City of New York’s 91.5 WNYE from 6am-12pm weekdays and on WFUV from 10pm-12am weekdays in addition to a 24/7 HD3/webcast. Those will all end on Friday, August 21 as part of a lineup shuffle at WFUV that will see the Alternate Side staffers moved to the primary station.
Alisa Ali will take the 6-10pm Monday through Thursday slot currently held by Darren DeVivo, who will slide back to 10pm-2am. Russ Borris will keep the Alternate Side alive as a specialty show on Fridays from 9pm-12am. The other Alternate Side hosts will retain their other duties at the station. Eric Holland will remain in fill-ins and overnights, while Kara Manning has become Digital Editor of WFUV.org and host of UKNY on Saturday nights. Full details of the WFUV changes can be seen here.
WFUV’s programming will not completely disappear from 91.5 WNYE. The station will simulcast WFUV from 4-7pm weekdays.
