Original Report 10/20: Univision Radio is cutting back on morning shows in at least three markets.
“Xavier’s World” hosted by Xavier Garcia and Biggie Paul at Rhythmic CHR “98.5 The Beat” KBBT San Antonio is out after twelve years at the station. Xavier’s World was syndicated to “Hot 105.7/100.7” KVVF/KVVZ San Francisco and previously aired on Univision stations in Albuquerque and Dallas.
Also in San Antonio, Jonny Ramirez is out as PD/MD/Morning Host at Tejano 107.5 KXTN. Ramirez had been with KXTN since 1993. We’ve also heard a few part-timers have been let go from the San Antonio cluster.
Spanish CHR “X96.3” WXNY New York has parted ways with “El Manicomio” show featuring Yan Ruiz, Paul Easy, King Platano, Nani and Chris Mambo after just ten months. WXNY is promoting itself as being jockless in mornings now with #puramusica and #ceroblablabla.
