KVIL completed its relaunch as the unwieldy named “More Hits, Less Commercials 103.7” this morning.
Promoting 50 minutes of music every hour, the move completes KVIL’s transition from AC to Hot AC that began in 2014. The station is now listing core artists as including: Sia, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, Calvin Harris, P!nk, Demi Lovato, Flo Rida, Meghan Trainor, Twenty One Pilots, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Britney Spears, Fifth Harmony, Maroon 5, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Adele, and Drake.
Original Report 7/31: CBS Hot AC 103.7 KVIL Highland Park/Dallas TX is preparing for some sort of makeover.
Following the registration of MoreHits1037.com, the station has updated its logos on all of its web properties to remove the KVIL calls and teasing something for Monday morning. The new logos include an added positioning statement of “More Hits, Less Commercials”.
The station’s website also features a new on-air lineup with morning hosts Kannon and Sybil Summers now airing 6-11am. Leigh Ann Adam moves from afternoon drive to 11am-4pm and Tanner Kloven from middays to 6pm-12am. Edgar ‘Shoboy’ Sotelo, who had been voicetracking nights from his homebase “92.3 Amp Radio” WBMP New York is no longer on the station’s schedule.
“More hits, less commercials” sounds like the “more hit music every hour, way less commercials” tagline that Amp Radio uses, at least in Detroit. Hmmm…
What do they mean by “More Hits”?
What do you think it means?
Meanwhile, I reflect back to Venus Flytrap saying “you’re listening to WKRP–the station with more music and Les Nessman.”
Maybe they can get Johnny Fever to voice track 12-6…
Live boxing every hour at :15 and :45.
I agree with the commenters over at AllAccess who argue that it probably should be “More Hits, *Fewer* Commercials”.
