Update 11/24/10: WOGT made the flip to Classic Hits “107.9 Big FM” at 12:00pm local time as “The Duke” signed off with Garth Brooks’ “The Dance”.

The first hour of 107.9 Big FM consisted of:
Chicago – Feelin’ Stronger Every Day
Kool & The Gang – Celebration
The Doobie Brothers – Listen To The Music
The Bee Gees – More Than A Woman
Tommy Tutone – 867-5309/Jenny
Jim Croce – You Don’t Mess Around With Jim
The Beatles – Come Together
Michael Jackson – Rock With You
Alive & Kicking – Tighter, Tighter
Creedence Clearwater Revival – Proud Mary
Neil Diamond – Cracklin’ Rosie
Huey Lewis & The News – The Power Of Love
The Bellamy Brothers – Let Your Love Flow
Jackson Browne – Doctor My Eyes
Dusty Springfield – Son Of A Preacher Man
Blues – Ride Captain Ride
Fleetwood Mac – Rhiannon

Original Report 11/22/10: After being without a Classic Hits outlet for most of 2010, Chattanooga could soon have two stations in the format. While we await the pending flip of Brewer Media’s 106.9 translator to “Hippie Radio“, it appears Citadel may be readying a flip of Country “107.9 The Duke” WOGT.

Citadel registered over the weekend. Making it easier to pinpoint is the fact that WOGT is the only 107.9 in Citadel’s portfolio. WOGT had been Oldies “GT 108” prior to flipping to Country in 2005. As Citadel does not subscribe to Arbitron in Chattanooga, we do not have access to their current ratings.

This is minor, but the complete name of the group that recorded Ride Captain Ride is “Blues Image” (not “Blues”). Someone probably just got in a hurry when typing up this list. Love the new station & the music is great.
