Univision Rebrands Stations In Seven Markets

For the second time this year Univision is rolling out new branding for their Spanish Pop stations in seven markets. The stations all dropped their previous identities for just the frequency and market in March. Now the stations have all rebranded as “Latino Mix“. Univision Continues Branding Simplicification

Univision continues to roll out simplified branding at many of its stations nationwide. Following a graphical adjustment at all of their stations last fall to coincide with the launch of the Uforia music app, seven of Univision’s Spanish CHR’s and Hot AC’s are dropping their name in favor of just the frequency. Univision Planning Phoenix Revamp?

With the July departure of Eddie ‘Piolin’ Soltelo wrecking havoc to the ratings of many of Univision’s Regional Mexican stations, the company has begun to take action to fix their damaged stations. The first action came in Austin, where the company revamped two of its stations in September. Now Univision looks as though it may be making a similar move in Phoenix based on the registrations of 1003ElSancho.com and 1059LaJefa.com. 105.9 is currently Regional Mexican “La Nueva 105.9” KHOT-FM Paradise Valley. Since the departure of Piolin, the station has seen the loss of almost half its audience as it dropped from a 3.6 share in the July PPM to 2.1 in October. La Kalle Expands In Phoenix

Univision has expanded the coverage of Spanish Rhythmic “La Kalle 100.3” KQMR Globe/Phoenix. On Monday the station began simulcasting on 105.3 KHOV Wickenburg to give the format coverage over the northwestern portions of the Phoenix metro as 100.3 rimshots the market from the east side. 105.3 had been simulcasting Regional Mexican “La Nueva 105.9” KHOT.
