Bo Matthews Joins Alpha Media Dayton

Alpha Media has appointed Bo Matthews as Operations Manager of its Dayton cluster and Content Director of Variety Hits “92.9 Jack-FM” WGTZ Eaton and Classic Country “101.5 Hank-FM” WCLI Enon OH. Matthews most recently served as Senior VP/Programming for iHeartMedia Cincinnati and Program Director of Rock 102.7 WEBN and CHR “Kiss 107.1” WKFS. He also programmed for the company in Cleveland, Fort Myers, Jacksonville and Youngstown. 101.5 Hank-FM Debuts In Dayton

Update 10/16: WCLI-FM was not destined to be the first All-Christmas station for the 2014 holiday season as it flipped to Classic Country “101.5 Hank-FM” at 10am today. Alpha Media Dayton, OH announced today the addition of a new music station; 101.5 Hank FM (WCLI) which will play iconic hit country music from the 90’s, 80’s and 2000’s that cannot currently be heard in the area. While the Miami Valley has several country hit stations, 101.5 Hank FM promises to differentiate itself by playing the iconic artists absent from Dayton radio—musicians that made country music popular—such as Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain and Brooks & Dunn. Alpha and L&L To Merge; Acquire Main Line Broadcasting

Larry Wilson is merging his two operating companies into one and acquiring another. Alpha Broadcasting and L&L Broadcasting will merge to become Alpha Media, while purchasing Main Line Broadcasting’s 19 stations in four markets for $57 million. Both Alpha and L&L were founded by Larry Wilson sharing the same management teams with L&L already operating Alpha’s stations. Following the completion of the two transactions the company will operate 68 radio stations in 12 markets. L&L’s deal to acquire Main Line was first reported in February by Tom Taylor Now. Update 3/25: WKSW debuted its new frequency and format at 1:00pm today when it became Modern AC “Click 101.5“. Much like the similarly formatted “Click 98.9” KLCK-FM Seattle, the station straddles the line between Modern Rock and Adult CHR.
