MARC Radio has flipped Christian AC “106.9 The Pulse” WPLL Cross City/Gainesville to Classic Country “I Am Country” simulcasting 980 WDVH/94.1 W231DH Gainesville. WPLL was required to drop its format as part of a non-compete in the spinoff of 101.7 WDVH-FM Trenton. MARC Radio launched Classic Country “101.7 Hank-FM” on WDVH-FM Trenton/Gainesville, FL this morning after a brief stunt as Dance “Nova 101.7“. A new format had been expected on the 101.7 signal since last September when Christian AC “Pulse 101.7” WPLL moved to the stronger 106.9 signal in the market. The new Hank-FM is promoting a broad mix of music from the 1960’s through the 2000’s. 101.7 previously held a Classic Country format from 2004 until 2011 as part of a simulcast with 980 WDVH Gainesville. That station is now Conservative Talk “Fox News Radio Florida“.
MARC Radio Adult CHR 106.9 WKZY Cross City/Gainesville, FL has begun simulcasting sister Christian AC “Pulse 101.7” WPLL-FM Trenton. The move boosts Pulse from the 3kw Class A signal of 101.7 to the 100kw C1 signal of 106.9. MARC plans on simulcasting the Christian format on both stations for about a month before debuting something new on 101.7.
