WDEL & WXDE Combine Management & Some Programming

Delmarva Broadcasting is combining the resources of News/Talk 1150 WDEL Wilmington DE/101.7 WDEL-FM Canton NJ and “Delaware 105.9” WXDE Lewes DE. WXDE morning host/PD Dan Gaffney will add oversight of the talk hosts on both stations, while WDEL Director of News & Programming Chris Carl takes oversight of the news operations. The stations will now simulcast from 9am to 4pm daily. Susan Monday moves from a split 10am-12pm/1pm-3pm timeslot on WXDE to 9am-12pm on both stations. WJKS To Becomes WDEL Simulcast

When Delmarva Broadcasting closes on its acquisition of Urban “Kiss 101.7” WJKS Canton, NJ/Wilmington, DE next week it will flip the station to a simulcast of News/Talk 1150 WDEL Wilmington. In a release promoting a new Small Business Saturday campaign, Michael Reath, VP/General Manager of WDEL and sister CHR 93.7 WSTW stated, “Delmarva Broadcasting is a huge supporter of shopping locally and it didn’t make sense to us to just promote ‘buy local’ just once a year. Delmarva Expands Its Wilmington, DE Cluster

Delmarva will be paying $3.2 million for WFAI and WJKS. Original Report: Delmarva Broadcasting is expanding its holdings in Wilmington, DE with the purchase of Urban “Kiss 101.7” WJKS Canton, NJ and Gospel “Faith 1510” WFAI Salem, NJ from QC Communications. The two stations will join a Delmarva cluster that includes CHR 93.7 WSTW Wilmington, Country 103.7 WXCY Havre de Grace, MD and News/Talk 1150 WDEL Wilmington. Delmarva will begin operating the two stations via LMA on January 1. No price was disclosed for the purchase.
