People Moves 2/5: Val Maki Exits Meruelo Media

Val Maki has exited her position at Market Manager for Meruelo Media Classic Hip-Hop 93.5 KDAY Redondo Beach/KDEY Ontario and Rhythmic CHR “Power 106” 105.9 KPWR Los Angeles after just seven months with the company. Maki joined Meruelo in July 2017 when the sale of KPWR from Emmis closed after spending 33 years with them. Maki had served as General Manager of KPWR since 1998 and also worked for the company in Boston, Chicago, and Minneapolis. Exiting alongside Maki is VP/Sales Janet Brainin. Brainin had been with KPWR since 2000 and previously spent 16 years at CBS Radio Los Angeles. Nick Steele & Kristen Flowers Jump To KOIT

Entercom AC 96.5 KOIT San Francisco has quickly filled its morning vacancy with the addition of Nick Steele and Kristen Flowers from Entravision Country “101.9 The Wolf” KNTY Shingle Springs/Sacramento. Steele and Flowers, who are married, have been with KNTY since June 2014. They previously worked at Midwest Communications CHR “100.7 Mix-FM” WMGI Terre Haute IN. Steele has also worked in Las Vegas, Tyler TX, and Dayton OH, while Flowers previously worked in News/Talk in Las Vegas and Houston. They replace Andrew Hart who departed the station last week.
