George Toulas Named Beasley Tampa Market Manager

Beasley Media has named George Toulas as its new Market Manager for its Tampa cluster. The move marks a return to radio after a six year absence for Toulas who had been serving as CEO of Alpha Astra LLC, a franchisee of womens retailer Apricot Lane Boutiques in Raleigh and Charlotte NC that he and his wife ran until its final location was seized by the North Carolina Department of Revenue for unpaid taxes earlier this year. CBS Radio and Beasley Broadcasting have agreed to exchange 19 stations in four markets. Update 8/2: “98.7 The Fan” made its debut today at 12pm. The lineup for the station includes a combination of known national and local personalities. Kirk McEwen, longtime morning host at “98 Rock” WIYY Baltimore and former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Chris Dingman will host mornings from 6-10am. CBS Sports Radio Network To Debut 1/2/2013

CBS has teamed with Cumulus to launch “CBS Sports Radio” on January 2, 2013. Fourteen CBS Sports formatted stations will contribute programming and content to the 24/7 network. The programming will include live talk shows around the clock with listener calls and interaction. CBS states it will have a prominent roles on the network for personalities from CBS Sports, CBS Sports Network, and CBSSports.com. Affiliates will be given the opportunity to regionalize their lineup by selecting programs from other CBS or Cumulus Sports formatted stations. Cumulus Media Networks will be the exclusive syndicator and sales partner of the network.
