Anchorage’s Peak Flips To Oldies

Ohana Media Group AAA “102.1 The Peak” KDBZ Anchorage dropped the format on Friday, March 7 to relaunch as Classic Hits “Oldies 102.1“. The new format places the station in direct competition with Morris Communication’s “Kool 97.3” KEAG. Ohana does not subscribe to Nielsen Audio so we do not have any public numbers for KDBZ. KEAG was third in the market with a 6.6 share in the Fall 2013 book. Anchorage Buzzing No More

Ohana Media Group Hot AC “Buzz 102.1” KDBZ Anchorage, AK will flip to AAA at midnight tonight. The new “102.1 The Peak” is being billed as “Alaska’s Timeless Variety” and is listing Van Morrison, Al Green, Joni Mitchell, Diana Krall and Paul Simon as older core artists it will be mixing with current artists John Mayer, Adele, Ray LaMontange, Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson. Ohana Media Group also operates Variety Hits “92.1 Bob-FM” KBBO, Rhythmic CHR 92.9 KFAT, and Country “96.3 The Wolf” KXLW in Anchorage.
