Draper Holdings has launched the permanent format on its recently acquired 102.5 WBOC-FM Pocomoke City/Salisbury MD. The station had been airing Christmas music since returning to the air in late-November. The new format will continue to compete with iHeartMedia’s “Q105” 104.7 WQHQ with an emphasis on local. While WQHQ is only locally originating in middays and afternoons, WBOC-FM is promoting that it will be local from 6am to 12am. The station’s lineup features Sarah Petros and Corey Phoebus in mornings, April Brilliant in middays, Program Director Joe Edwards in afternoons, and Dory Hayman at night.
WBOC will pay $650,000 for WOLC. Marantha has stated it will take WOLC dark on Tuesday, August 18 until the sale to WBOC closes later this year to allow the station’s equipment to be moved into the television station’s building.
