Station Sales Alpha Media is converting its LMA of Miller Communication’s 93.9 WSCZ Winnsboro, SC to a purchase for $900,000. Alpha began operating WSCZ via LMA in September 2014 to simulcast Urban “Hot 103.9” WHXT Orangeburg in the northern portions of the Columbia market. Spanish Broadcasting Systems is swapping some of its Puerto Rican holdings for television assets. Spanish AC “Estereo Tempo” 99.9 WIOA San Juan/105.1 WIOC Ponce and Salsa “La Zeta” 92.1 WZET Hormigueros/Ponce will go to International Broadcasting Corporations for WTCV-DT 32 San Juan, WVEO-DT 17 Aguadilla, and WVOZ-DT 47 Ponce. Midessa Broadcasting has launched Spanish Adult Hits “102.9 Mundo-FM” KEYU-FM Amarillo. Midessa had purchased the former KRGN from Family Life Radio for $700,000 earlier this year. The station’s Facebook page describes the station (via translation) as, “We play a variety of great songs that range from pop to classic bachata.”
Midessa Broadcasting has acquired Christian Preaching 102.9 KRGN Amarillo, TX from Family Life Radio for $700,000. The station becomes Midessa’s first radio station in the market, but joins a rather large television operation consisting of CBS “Newschannel 10” KFDA, “Univision 41” KEYU, “Telemundo Amarillo” KTMO-LP, and Independent “10 Too” KZBZ-LP. KRGN will convert back to commercial operation upon completion of the sale. Midessa does have one other radio operation in its portfolio. Regional Mexican “La Ley 104.7” KTXC Lamesa serves the Midland/Odessa market.
