Update 2/21: WGZO flipped to Variety Hits “SC 103” WVSC at 5pm today. Using the familiar “We Play Everything” branding, the station is moving its focus from the whole Savannah/Hilton-Head market to just the South Carolina portion. The station’s airstaff remains intact with Jeff ‘T-Bone’ Taylor in mornings and Brad Wells in afternoons. Required to be spun-off due to L&L Broadcasting’s pending purchase of 100.1 WSSJ, Apex Broadcasting has agreed to purchase Classic Hits “103.1 The Drive” WGZO Parris Island, SC for $450,000. Apex does not currently own any stations in the Savannah/Hilton Head market, but has a cluster of 1 AM and 4 FM’s in nearby Charleston.
