Following the departure of Ryan Cameron, Entercom Urban “V103” 103.3 WVEE Atlanta is resurrecting a former incarnation of its morning show. As first hinted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Rodney Ho in late January, WVEE will reunite Frank Ski, Wanda Smith, and Joe ‘Miss Sophia’ Taylor for “Frank & Wanda In The Morning” starting Monday, February 12. Ski hosted mornings at WVEE from 1998 through 2012 when he was replaced by Cameron. He has recently been hosting weekend shifts at the station after spending two years in afternoons at Urban AC 96.3 WHUR Washington DC. Ryan Cameron announced this morning that he is exiting mornings at Entercom Urban “V103” 103.3 WVEE Atlanta. Cameron has been hosting mornings at the station since 2012 after spending seven years in afternoons. He began his career at WVEE in 1990 as an intern and later became night host until jumping to Radio-One for a brief stint at 93.9 WKYD Washington DC before returning to Atlanta to launch “Hot 97.5” WHTA in 1995 as morning host. He would stay at WHTA through its move to 107.9 until returning to WVEE in 2005. While attention was made to Clear Channel’s wide-scale layoffs on December 6, it seems that CBS has quietly been making staff cuts as well. Update 1/2: A few more cuts have become public since our first report: Dallas – AC “103.7 Lite-FM” KVIL morning team Gene & Julie did not have their contracts renewed. Middayer Tony Zazza replaces them. New York – WCBS-FM APD Lenny Bloch departs. His voicetracked overnight shift was replaced with a live shift hosted by Dave Stewart, formerly of 95.5 WPLJ. Morning hossts Frank Ski and Wanda Smith will depart CBS Urban “V103” WVEE Atlanta on December 21. Ski joined WVEE in 1998 following a successful run at WXYV and WERQ in Baltimore. Ryan Cameron, who currently holds the afternoon slot on the station will move to mornings in January with former WPGC Washington morning host Big Tigger joining for afternoons.
