Glenn Ordway Returns To WEEI

After exiting the station in February 2013 following a 27 year run including 18 in afternoon drive, Glenn Ordway is coming home to Entercom Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM Boston. Ordway will rejoin WEEI on Tuesday, September 8 as the new 10am-2pm co-host at the station joining former New England Patriot Christian Fauria and former Boston Red Sox Lou Merloni. He takes the spot that had been held by Tim Benz. Benz exited WEEI in July to be closer to his family in Pittsburgh. While away from WEEI, Ordway hosted a daily streaming show that had a couple terrestrial affiliates and did a weekend show for SiriusXM. WEEI Continues Lineup Revamp

Entercom Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM Boston and its network of affiliates across New England is continuing the revamp of its staff. Joining the station are Tim Benz, who current serves as Host/Sports Director at Clear Channel’s “ESPN 970” WBGG Pittsburgh and former New England Patriots Tight End Christian Fauria. The duo will join incumbent (and former Boston Red Sox) Lou Merloni in the 10am to 2pm midday slot titled ‘Middays with MFB’. Mike Mutnansky had been co-hosting the midday show with Merloni. He will become the new host of the station’s Red Sox pre and post-game coverage replacing John Ryder. Ryder was let go today after sixteen years with the station. WEEI Boston To Move To FM

Update 7:00pm: As we were compiling our report based on the call sign applications, The Boston Globe goes one step further verifying that WEEI will begin simulcasting on 93.7 this Monday, September 12 displacing “Mike-FM“. Original Report 6:55pm: Entercom Sports 850 WEEI Boston will make its move to the FM band in Boston proper. The station has scheduled a “Special Announcement” for the 8:00am hour on Thursday morning. At that time all signs point to the station announcing its move to the FM band. Entercom has begun the process by applying for some call sign changes for a pair of its owned affiliate stations. 103.7 WEEI-FM Westerly, RI has applied to take the WVEI-FM calls from 105.5 in Springfield, MA.
