Cumulus Turns In Missouri License; Format Moves To New Frequency

Cumulus Media has turned in the license of “Z104.1” KZJF Jefferson City MO and has moved its Classic Hits format to sister 97.5 KJMO Linn. Cumulus had originally filed its intention to place KJMO in a divestiture trust along with three other stations as part of its post-bankruptcy restructuring. With the pending deletion of the KZJF license the company will no longer be required to divest any station in the Columbia/Jefferson City market. KJMO had been airing the Westwood One “Good Time Oldies” format as “Cool 97.5“. With the assumption of the KZJF format it has adjusted its positioning to “Jefferson City’s Cool Classic Hits” and has taken over as the Jefferson City affiliate for Kansas City Royals baseball.

Z104.1 Jefferson City Debuts

Cumulus made the flip of “104.1 The Fan” KZJF Jefferson City to Classic Hits “Z104.1” at 12pm today. Tim Thomas, afternoon host at sister AC 101.5 KPLA Columbia, will add additional duties as morning host at KZJF. The rest of the day will utilize Westwood One’s Classic Hits network. Kansas City Royals baseball will remain on KZJF following the flip from Sports. Nash-FM Launches In Columbia Following Fan Move

Update 10/8: Christmas came early to Columbia as 100.1 KBBM flipped to Country “Nash-FM 100.1” this morning. Tim Murphy, afternoon host at sister AC 101.5 KPLA will pull double duty as morning host. Cathy Evans will host midday with nights and overnights filled by the syndicated CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan and Kickin’ With Kix Brooks. The move to Country places KBBM in competition with Zimmer Radio’s market leading “Clear 99” KCLR and KXEO Radio’s “Country 96” KWWR. KBBM becomes Cumulus’ 18th Nash branded station.
