JoAnne Purtan Joins WOMC’s Morning Show

Entercom Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC Detroit has revealed the second half of its new morning show as JoAnne Purtan will take the spot across from Stephen Clark. Like Clark, Purtan spent her career in television news where she worked at WXYZ-TV as an anchor for twenty years until her contract was not renewed last month. Her family has a strong legacy at WOMC where her father Dick anchored mornings from 1996-2010 and sister Jackie worked alongside him for a time. Stephen Clark To Lead New WOMC Detroit Morning Show

Entercom Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC Detroit has revealed that former WXYZ-TV news anchor Stephen Clark will join the station on Monday, April 2 to lead its new morning show. Clark retired at the end of February after 40 years in television including the last 16 years at WXYZ as their 6 and 11pm weekday anchor. He previously worked in Colorado Springs, San Diego, Washington DC, and at WCBS-TV New York before coming to Detroit. Jeff Miles has found a temporary gig as interim morning host at Entercom Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC Detroit. Miles, the former morning host at 102.5 WKLB Boston and “Y100” KCYY San Antonio will fill the slot created by the departure of Bobby Mitchell and Stacey DuFord at the end of 2017 until a new show is in place. Stacey DuFord Exits WOMC Mornings; More Changes Coming?

Since ending its Christmas Music run, some changes have taken place at Entercom Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC Detroit. Now branding as “The New 104.3 WOMC” the station has noticeably removed all 1990s music from its library and is focusing on the 70s and 80s with a slighter emphasis on rock crossover. Additionally all references to the Bobby & Stacey Morning Show were wiped from the station’s website. However while co-host Stacey DuFord has exited, Bobby Mitchell is still with the station and stating he will return to the morning slot on Monday, January 8. DuFord had been with WOMC since 2011. Tim Roberts Promoted To CBS VP/Country Programming

CBS Radio has appointed Tim Roberts as Vice President of Country Programming. Roberts fills the position last held by former “US 99.5” WUSN Chicago programmer Jeff Kapugi prior to his exit in late 2016. Roberts will continue in his other position as VP/Music Programming for CBS Radio Detroit where he programs CHR “98.7 Amp Radio” WDZH, Country 99.5 WYCD, and Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC. Roberts has been with CBS since 2006, when he joined WYCD as OM/Program Director. He has also programmed defunct Country outlets “W4” 106.7 WWWW Detroit, 94.9 KSAN San Francisco, and stations in Cedar Rapids, Charlotte, Spokane, and Youngstown. CBS Expands HD Programming

While many companies have given up on launching unique programming on HD subchannels, CBS Radio has launched two new subchannels this week. 104.3 WOMC-HD3 Detroit is now “The Blvd. Detroit” replacing Psychic Talk “The Sky“. The new format focuses on musicians from Detroit including current bands like Mayor Hawthorn, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., The Ready Set, Blue October, Mike Posner as well as Kid Rock, Eminem, Madonna, Jack White, Marvin Gaye, and new unsigned artists.
