Equinox Broadcasting has launched Oldies “Solid Gold 104.5” W283AG Binghamton, NY. Northeast Radio Watch reports that the 50s/60s based format will flank sister Classic Hits “Cool 106.7” WCDW Port Dickinson as that focuses on 70s and 80s hits. W283AG was the home of Alternative “The Drive” until last August when the format moved to what is now 100.5 WDRE Susquehanna, PA. 104.5 continued to simulcast WDRE until recently to cover the western portions of the market. That role is now being served by 95.1 W236AP Binghamton. The move has been in the works for quite some time as Northeast Radio Watch’s Scott Fybush noted seeing “Gold 104.5” banners at Binghamton Senators hockey games this winter.
