Saga Brings Pure Oldies To Des Moines

Saga Communications continues the roll-out of its “Pure Oldies” brand to what it likes to call metro signals as 104.5 K283CC Des Moines/103.3 KAZR-HD2 Pella IA drops Conservative Talk for 1950s/60s Hits. Des Moines becomes the third market to debut the new brand following Ithaca NY and Springfield IL at the start of February. Like Springfield, K283CC’s 1950s/1960s format will flank Saga’s existing Classic Hits station in the market: 93.3 KIOA.

Saga Communications has flipped Adult Standards “Legends 104.5” K283CC Des Moines/103.3 KAZR-HD2 Pella IA to Talk “Talk 104.5“. The station’s lineup will feature: 5-8am – Gordon Deal 8-10am – Mike Gallagher 10am-1pm – Laura Ingraham 1-3pm – Clark Howard 3-5pm – Tom Sullivan 5-6pm – Insight on Business w/ Michael Libbie 6-9pm – Mark Levin 9pm-12am – John Batchelor 12am-5am – Overnight America w/ Jon Grayson On weekends K283CC will simulcast the ESPN Radio programming heard on sister 1350 KRNT Des Moines.

Saga Launches ESPN Des Moines; KRNT Moves To FM

Saga Communications has flipped 1350 KRNT Des Moines to Sports “ESPN Des Moines“. KRNT will air the national ESPN Radio programming lineup along with Chicago Cubs baseball, Green Bay Packers football, Iowa Energy basketball, and Drake University sports. ESPN Radio programming has been lacking from the Des Moines market since Cumulus switched “1700 The Champ” KBGG to CBS Sports Radio when that network launched in January 2013. KRNT’s previous Adult Standards format will shift to 104.5 K283CC/KAZR-HD2 as “104.5 KRNT“. K283CC had been carrying the programming of Christian Preaching “Praise 940” KPSZ. 940 will also pickup Chicago Bears football.
