Jacent Jackson Returns To San Francisco To Program KFOG

Cumulus Media’s 104.5 KFOG San Francisco/97.7 KFGG Los Gatos/San Jose has announced the addition of Jacent Jackson as Program Director. Jackson most recently programmed Alternative “Live 105” 105.3 KITS until Entercom relaunched the station as “Alt 105.3” in December 2017. He has also programmed in Milwaukee and Boise during his career. The move comes as KFOG shies further away from its AAA heritage into a more Alternative Rock leaning position following the addition of the Woody Show for mornings. Local Media San Diego has agreed to a contract extension with CHR “Z90.3” XHTZ and Rhythmic AC “Magic 92.5” XHRM Tijuana/San Diego Program Director Randy “R Dub” Williams. Williams has served as Program Director of the two stations since 2011 after previously programming “Hot 92.3” KHHT Los Angeles. With the new deal his title will be changed to Supreme Commander. Cumulus AAA 104.5 KFOG San Francisco and 97.7 KFFG Los Altos/San Jose has become the first non iHeartMedia owned affiliate for “The Woody Show”. The Woody Show previously aired in San Francisco on “Live 105” 105.3 KITS from January 2006 until April 2009 where it replaced Howard Stern following his move to Sirius. The show has been based at iHeartMedia’s “Alt 98.7” KYSR Los Angeles since April 2014 and began being syndicated by Premiere Networks last year. It currently airs on sixteen iHeart owned stations. After a little more than a year in mornings at Cumulus AAA 104.5 KFOG San Francisco/97.7 KFFG Los Gatos/San Jose, Matt Pinfield is stepping down. Pinfield will continue to host the daily “Two Hours” syndicated Alternative Rock show and the weekly Classic Rock based “Flashback” for Cumulus owned Westwood One. He had previously taken a brief leave of absence at the start of this year to return to rehab. Pinfield joined KFOG in April 2016 as part of the station’s “evolution” and relaunch. Following the exit of Jim Richards last month, Cumulus Media has hired Brian Schock as OM/PD of AAA 104.5 KFOG/97.7 KFFG and Classic Rock “107.7 The Bone” KSAN San Francisco. With the move, KFOG is running jockless and running sweepers promoting an Evolution of the station on Wednesday, April 20. The entire airstaff has been let go including morning hosts Mike ‘No Name’ Nelson, Irish Greg McQuade and Renee Richardson, middayer Annalisa, afternoon host Bill Webster, and night host Dred Scott.
