Mapleton Communications is adding a pair and selling a pair in the Merced CA market. Mapleton will acquire Country 96.3 KUBB Mariposa and Rhythmic CHR “Hot 104.7” KHTN Planada from Alpha Media for $2.5 million. To make room for the newly acquired stations, Mapleton will sell Active Rock “92.5 The Bear” KBRE Atwater and Spanish AC “Magia 106.3” KGAM Merced for $550,000. The pair will be Lazer’s entry into the Merced market. KHTN and KUBB will join a Mapleton cluster that also includes AC “K97.5” KABX, Regional Mexican “Radio Lobo 98.7” KLOQ-FM, News/Talk 1480 KYOS and Spanish Christian 1660 KTIQ.
