The station is combining the Classic Hip-Hop music with the marijuana culture in the state. The “Wake & Bake Morning Show” focusing on issues relating to pot culture aired on short-lived sister station “1580 K-High” KHIG. The pot theme stretches to the midday personality named Miranda Rights and “Weed Pimps” afternoon show.

United States CP launched Variety Hits “Tailgate 98” in Colorado Springs earlier this month. Airing on 1040 KCBR Monument and 98.5 K253AH Colorado Springs, the format replaced Talk “I-25 Talk” on KCBR. The new format is branded as “All The Great Party Songs” with a mix of Pop, Rock, Dance, and Country. It duplicates a similar format launched earlier this year in Charleston, WV. Tailgate launched with an airstaff including former KKFM middayer Gina Kavali in mornings, DJ Michaels in afternoons, and Big Mike Gomez at night.
