KYSX Rebrands As 105.1 Star-FM

Less than four months after flipping to AC “Classy 105.1” in February, Radio Billings has rebranded 105.1 KYSX Billings MT as “105.1 Star-FM“. The station’s logo is identical to the recently launched “95.3 Star-FM” in nearby Missoula. KYSX flipped from Christian AC to AC in February.

Billings Gets Classy

Radio Billings flipped Christian AC “Crossroads 105.1” to AC “Classy 105.1” KYSX Billings MT in January. The move brings an Adult Contemporary station back to the Billings market for the first time since “Magic 107.5” KRPM flipped to Classic Country in 2014.

Twang Moves In Billings

Anthony Media’s Classic Country “Twang 105” KYSX Billings has begun simulcasting on 107.5 KRPM Billings. The move displaces AC “Magic 107.5” from KRPM which along with Benedetti Media Group’s Country “98.5 The Wolf” KEWF and CHR “Hot 101.9” KRSQ had been operated by Terry Strickland with an option to buy. 105.1 KYSX and Chaparral Broadcasting owned Variety Hits “Mojo 92.5” KBXI Park City are operated by Anthony Media. It appears a Rock format will be heading to 105.1 as KRock105.com was registered by Anthony Media’s engineer Bruce Faulkner last month.

KYSX Billings Has A Twang

Classic Rock “105.1 The X” KYSX Billings has switched to Country “Twang 105.1“. The move comes as Kurt Anthony, who operates Variety Hits “Mojo 92.5” KBXI via LMA from Chaparral Broadcasting takes on a similar arrangement with Benedetti Media Group for 105.1. Anthony has options to buy both stations as well. The Billings Gazette reports that “105.1 The Twang” has an 1800 song playlist, that all include “twang guitar”. The remaining three stations of Benedetti Media Group have been leased with options to buy to cluster GM Terry Strickland. Those stations are Country “98.5 The Wolf” KEWF, CHR “Hot 101.9” KRSQ, and AC “Magic 107.5” KRPM.
