At least twice a year it appears Bayshore Media’s Ocean City, MD properties change formats. In October 101.1 WAMS-FM Snow Hill and 105.1 W286BB Ocean Pines shifted from Gospel to Variety Hits “Jack-FM“. That came after two previous format changes in the prior year. Now 1590 WIJK (Previously WAMS) and the 105.1 translator have flipped to Sports “The Jock” using CBS Sports Radio. The stations are also affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles radio network. 101.1 WAMS-FM continues with the “Jack-FM” programming.
The rotating wheel of formats at Bayshore Media’s stations in Ocean City MD continues. Since September 2011, when 1590/104.3 WAMS Ocean City flipped to Talk as WQMR and 101.1 WQMR Snow Hill flipped to 80s Hits as WAMS-FM, multiple format changes have taken place. 101.1 dropped its 80s format in March and spent 91 days running the syndicated True Oldies Channel before flipping to Gospel as “Praise 101.1” on May 31. 1590 kept the Talk format going until this past August when it paired the aformentioned True Oldies Channel with locally programmed Oldies branded as WAMS-FM. Now 101.1 WAMS-FM will be paired with 105.1 W286BB Ocean Pines to shift to Variety Hits “Jack-FM“. The station will run the Dial Global nationally distributed version of the format.
