iHeartMedia has flipped Hot AC “105.3 My-FM” 1270 WTLY/105.3 W287CO Tallahassee FL to Urban “105.3 The Beat“. The new format is launching with 5,000 songs commercial-free and will debut the syndicated Breakfast Club in mornings on Monday, June 12. The new format goes directly against Cumulus’ market leading “Blazin’ 102.3” WWLD Cairo GA.
While there were a few early stragglers to Christmas Music this year (starting with 1220/98.1 KOMC Branson MO on October 1), all of them were stations preparing to debut new formats or brand new signals signing on for the first time. A month and a half after moving from 94.3 to 94.5, iHeartMedia’s 1270 WTLY (formerly WNLS) has moved its translator again. At 5pm this evening W233AQ Tallahassee completed it move to 105.3 as W287CO allowing it to increase power from 105 watts to 220 at 178 meters (Coverage Map). Coinciding with the frequency change the station has switched to Christmas music. The current AC format debuted on December 26, 2014 following a month-long run with holiday hits.
