Wally Brine To Retire From WROR’s Loren & Wally

One of the longest running morning duo in Boston radio history is coming to an end. Wally Brine has announced his final show on Beasley Media Classic Hits 105.7 WROR-FM Framingham will be on Friday, December 16. Brine has teamed with Loren Owens since 1982 through multiple formats on 105.7 (AC WVBF, Country WCLB/WKLB, and since 1996 Classic Hits WROR). Prior to coming to Boston the year prior, Brine spent a decade working at multiple stations in Portland ME. He is the son of Providence market legend Salty Brine. Loren Owens and co-hosts Lauren Beckham Falcone and Hank Morse will continue in mornings following Brine’s retirement. Rob Williams Exits Greater Media Boston To Join Townsquare Media

Greater Media has announced that Rob Williams is exiting his position as VP/General Manager of their Boston properties at the end of this week to join Townsquare Media as Senior Vice President of Operations. Williams joined Greater Media in 2012 after previously serving as a Regional VP for iHeartMedia and CEO of the now defunct GoomRadio.com. At Townsquare he and current Regional VP Todd Lawley will oversee sales and operations across all of the company’s markets. WROR Makes Lineup Changes

Greater Media Classic Hits 105.7 WROR Framingham/Boston shuffled its on-air lineup today. Julie Devereaux moves from afternoons to middays, taking the 10am to 2pm slot that had previously been held by the “Employee of the Day” with a listener voicetracking the slot. Devereaux has been with WROR since 2000 and is returning to a midday slot she filled from 2002 until 2008. Before joining WROR she previously worked at 92.9 WBOS and 93.7 WCGY. Her move will open up afternoons for Jaybeau Jones, who moves from weekends to the 2-7pm slot. Jones, previously programmed CBS Hot AC “Mix 98.5” WBMX and Classic Hits 103.3 WODS in the market along with long runs programming in Chicago, Hartford, and Worcester. While the days of the fake format change for the day are mostly behind us, radio still comes out swinging regularly with pranks every April 1. We’re still calling Kars4Kids switch to Kids4Kars as the best move of the day with their commercials airing on multiple stations across the country. Greater Media Classic Hits 105.7 WROR Boston is airing all their non-music elements in Spanish branded as “Samba 105.7“. The station cited the Spanish elements this morning as part of USWTF Regulations for necessary SAP guidelines for radio. In Montreal, Bell Media’s two English language stations traded frequencies for the 7:00am hour. CHR “Virgin Radio 96” aired on 97.7 CHOM with CHOM’s Rock format on 95.9 CJFM.
