Emmis has revealed more details of its previously announced deals to sell its St. Louis stations to Entercom and Hubbard. Hubbard Radio will pay $45 million for Classic Rock 94.7 KSHE Crestwood and Alternative “105.7 The Point” KPNT Collinsville IL as those stations join Country “New Country 92.3” WIL-FM, Sports “101 Sports” 101.1 WXOS, and Variety Hits “106.5 The Arch” WARH in Hubbard’s expanded St. Louis cluster. Entercom will add CHR “Now 96.3” KNOU and News/Talk “FM News/Talk 97.1” KFTK-FM Flourissant for $15 million as they join Hot AC “Y98” 98.1 KYKY, AC 102.5 KEZK, and News/Talk 1120 KMOX. Less than a year after moving to mornings at Emmis CHR “96.3 Now” KNOU St. Louis, Lux is returning to her previous 2-7pm afternoon shift at sister Alternative “105.7 The Point” KPNT Collinville IL. Lux started her entire career at KPNT starting in promotions and weekends in 2007. She moved up to middays in 2012 and afternoons in 2013. In December 2016, she slid over to KNOU to co-host mornings with comedian/musician Tim Convy. He will remain in place at the now rebranded Tim Convy Show. Makena ‘Mak’ Carmean, who had moved from weekends to afternoons concurrent with Lux’s move to KNOU, will slide down to the previously jockless 7pm-12am night slot.
Ashley ‘Lux’ Mohr is moving from afternoons at Emmis Alternative “105.7 The Point” KPNT Collinsville IL/St. Louis to mornings at sister CHR “Now 96.3” KNOU. Lux will be paired with musician/comedian Tim Convy. Mohr has spent her entire career at KPNT starting in promotions and weekends in 2007. She moved up to middays in 2012 and afternoons in 2013. Convy is a member of the rock band Ludo and was most recently a producer on Comedy Central’s Not Safe With Nikki Glaser. They replace Curt Copeland, who exited the station last week, and Nina Blanco who moves back to her former night slot. Makena ‘Mak’ Carmean, who currently hosts weekends on both KNOU and KPNT, will take over the afternoon slot on KPNT vacated by Lux.
Emmis Communications has promoted Tommy Mattern to Operations Manager of its four stations in St. Louis. Mattern, the longtime PD of Alternative “105.7 The Point” KPNT, also has oversees CHR “Now 96.3” KNOU since its launch last January. Mattern will fill the duties most recently held by VP and Director of Programming Rick Balis. Balis will continue on as Program Director of Rock 94.7 KSHE. Along with Mattern’s promotion, Kyle Guderian has been upped to Director of Marketing & Events for Emmis St. Louis. Clear Channel Alternative “Alt 98.7” KYSR Los Angeles will bring on The Woody Show for mornings beginning on April 21. The four members of the show will reunite at KYSR for the first time since 2009 when they hosted mornings at “Live 105” KITS San Francisco. Woody and Renay Ravey currently are part of the ‘Woody & Rizzuto’ morning show at “105.7 The Point” KPNT St. Louis. Greg Gory currently co-hosts mornings at AAA 104.5 KFOG San Francisco and Menace most recently hosted nights at KITS. Current KYSR morning host Kennedy will remain in place until the Woody Show debuts.
