Update 9/17: The changes continue at WEBN. With Chris Williams transferring from the former “Project 9-6-1” WKLS Atlanta to program the station, WEBN has segued from Mainstream Rock to Active Rock. Original Report 2:00pm: Clear Channel will soon debut its latest “Project” in Cincinnati. Following the shutdown of Martz Communication’s pair of HD fed translators, the company has begun selling off its properties in the market. 97.5 W248AQ Harrison MI has been sold to Salem Communications for $250,000 who will use it to rebroadcast Conservative Talk “1400 The Patriot” WDTK. Martz had purchased the translator last fall for $32,000 and had gained a CP to move it to 92.7 with 250 watts. Following the debut of “ESPN Deportes Chicago” 97.5 W248AO, EMF will be pairing with Clear Channel to launch a second translator in the city. 96.7 W244BQ Park Ridge has applied to operate with 85 watts at 1181 feet with a directional antenna pointed northwest away from WSSR Joliet. It’s not every day that you see a full powered station traded for a translator. Cumulus and EMF Broadcasting made such a deal this week with Cumulus sending Oldies 102.3 WFVL-FM Lumberton, NC to EMF for 100.7 K264AS Mooringsport, LA. The translator, which serves the Shreveport market has a construction permit to move to downtown Shreveport with 250 watts. Following the FCC decision to force “104.7 The Oasis” W284BQ Detroit off the air until it can find a new frequency, Radio Power Inc. has applied to move the translator to 93.5 where it will operate with 99 watts. Radio Power has also purchased 97.5 W248AQ Harrison, MI from Radio Assist Ministry for $32,000. That translator has applied to move to downtown Detroit with 250 watts on 107.1.
