Tom Cook Joins Entercom Baltimore As Director of Music Programming

After exiting his position as Regional Operations Manager for Townsquare Media Michigan and PD of Hot AC “Mix 95.7” WLHT and AC “100.5 The River” WTRV Grand Rapids earlier this week, Tom Cook is joining Entercom as Director of Music Programming for its Baltimore cluster. Cook will oversee AC “Today’s 101.9” WLIF and Hot AC “Mix 106.5” WWMX. Before joining Townsquare Grand Rapids in 2011, Cook previously held programming positions in Madison, Philadelphia, Toledo, and Wichita. David LaBrozzi Joins 95.5 WPLJ New York As Program Director

Entercom Baltimore VP/Programming David LaBrozzi is joining Cumulus Media Hot AC 95.5 WPLJ New York as Program Director. LaBrozzi has overseen the former CBS Radio cluster in Baltimore since 2004 including AC “Today’s 101.9” WLIF and Hot AC “Mix 106.5” WWMX. He previously served as VP/Programming for Clear Channel Pittsburgh and programmed in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and Nashville. He fills the opening created by Rick Gillette’s exit in January. Mix 106.5 Baltimore Makes Morning Change

Entercom Hot AC “Mix 106.5” WWMX Baltimore has made a change in mornings as Jon Boesche’ and producer Katie Rose have exited and Bethany Linderman is incoming to join remaining co-host Reagan Warfield. Linderman most recently did fill-ins for Pamal Broadcasting in Albany NY after exiting as morning co-host at Townsquare Media Country 107.7 WGNA in 2016. She has also co-hosted mornings at 95.7 WPIG Olean NY, 97.5 WPCV Lakeland FL, and 99.5 WQYK Tampa during her career. [membership level="2,3"] AM Changes Genesis Communications' "Sports Talk Florida" 1080 WHOO Kissimmee/Orlando FL is amending its plans to move to the site of Star Over Orlando's 810 WRSO Orlovista and will now diplex with sister Christian 1190 WAMT Pine Castle Sky Lake. As part of the move WHOO will change city-of-license to Winter Park and drop from 19kW day/190W night to 6kW day/55w night. WHOO has been operating from the WAMT site under an STA with 1.5kW day/11w night since the land of its former five tower array was sold in 2015.

CBS Radio Promotes Tracy Brandys To Baltimore Market Manager

CBS Radio has promoted Baltimore VP/Director of Sales Tracy Brandys to Senior Vice President/Market Manager for the company’s four station cluster of AC “Today’s 101.9” WLIF, Sports “105.7 The Fan” WJZ-FM, Hot AC “Mix 106.5” WWMX, and Sports “CBS Sports Radio 1300” WJZ. Brandys succeeds Bob Phillips, who recently transferred to CBS Radio’s corporate offices in New York as Chief Revenue Officer. Bob Phillips Named CBS Radio Chief Revenue Officer

CBS Radio has promoted Baltimore market manager and SVP/Sales Bob Phillips to the newly created role of Chief Revenue Officer. Phillips will be based in New York and be responsible for leading all aspects of revenue generation for the company at the corporate, regional, and local levels. Phillips has spent most of his career in Baltimore working for United Broadcasting, Sconnix Broadcasting, and American Radio Systems into its acquisition by CBS where he rose to GSM and then GM of Oldies 105.7 WQSR before being named Market Manager for the cluster in 2000. While attention was made to Clear Channel’s wide-scale layoffs on December 6, it seems that CBS has quietly been making staff cuts as well. Update 1/2: A few more cuts have become public since our first report: Dallas – AC “103.7 Lite-FM” KVIL morning team Gene & Julie did not have their contracts renewed. Middayer Tony Zazza replaces them. New York – WCBS-FM APD Lenny Bloch departs. His voicetracked overnight shift was replaced with a live shift hosted by Dave Stewart, formerly of 95.5 WPLJ.
