Bogey Resets In Corpus Christi As Shark Returns To KYRK

Over the past several months Bogey Broadcasting has played musical chairs with a few formats and frequencies in Corpus Christi. Now the company has reset to its original state as 106.5 KYRK Taft flips back to Alternative “106.5 The Shark“. To recap the moves Bogey has made so far this year, in January they began operating 94.7 KBSO and later 1150 KCCT as Texas Country “The Rig“. In early May, after a snag in their LMA of 106.5 KYRK from Withers Broadcasting, the Rig moved exclusively to 1150 and “106.5 The Shark” moved to 94.7. Corpus Christi’s Rig Returns To FM

Update 5/20: Resolving whatever issues remained between the companies, Bogey Broadcasting resumed operating 106.5 KYRK Taft/Corpus Christi with the Texas Country “Rig” programming that was moved exclusively to 1150 KCCT earlier this month. The Alternative format that had been heard on 106.5 until earlier this month remains on The Rig’s previous home of KBSO Corpus Christi as “94.7 The Shark“. Update 5/4: Bogey Broadcasting owner Scott Holt has contacted us with a clarification. While the LMA for 106.5 KYRK did come to an end at 2pm Saturday, the company is still under contract to purchase the station and intends to do so. Station Sales Bogey Broadcasting is converting their Time Brokerage Agreement to operate “106.5 The Shark” KYRK Taft/Corpus Christi, TX into a purchase from Withers Family Texas Holdings for $1,284,000. Educational Media Foundation purchases the CP for 91.1 KJZD Perris/Riverside, CA from Cal State University Long Beach for $50,000. CSU has until January 10, 2015 to build the CP before it expires. Northeast Colorado Broadcasting acquires the CP for 104.5 KZLL Log Lane Village, CO from JER Licenses for $70,000. Northeast Colorado Broadcasting owns Country “94.5 The Ranch” KRFD Merino, Hot AC 105.7 KPMX Sterling, Country “B106.3” KPRB Brush, Farm 1010 KSIR Brush and has a pending purchase of Christian AC 100.1 KSIK Fleming. Shark Attack In Corpus Christi

Update 5/22: KYRK will launch in early July as Classic Hits “106.5 The Shark” positioned as “Killer Hits of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s”. A promotional site located at SampleHour.com features a sample music log and aircheck of what to expect and not expect from the new station. The new format will pit the station in direct competition with Clear Channel’s “Oldies 93.9” KMXR.
