Original Report 4/2: Stephens Media Group has agreed to purchase fourteen stations in the Kennewick/Richland/Pasco and Yakima markets from Ingstad Radio Washington for an undisclosed price. The deal will bring the Tulsa based Stephens up to 41 stations nationally including their home market and Rochester and Watertown NY. Stephens began operating the stations via LMA on Sunday, April 1. Ingstad Radio Washington has launched Alternative “106.9 XFM” K295BT Wapato/KHHK-HD3 Yakima, WA. Launching with 10,000 songs in a row, the new station becomes a flanker for sister Classic Rock “105.7 The Hawk” KRSE against Townsquare Media’s Active Rock 94.5 KATS and CHR 107.3 KFFM. KRSE Program Director Brian Henderson will add the same duties for XFM. The 106.9 signal signed-on earlier this summer simulcasting “ESPN Deportes 980” KTCR after that station dropped its Classic Country “Tractor” identity. K295BT is the second translator Ingstad has launched in Yakima this year following Hot AC “Big 106.1” K291BV in May.

Ingstad purchased K291BV and two other Yakima area translators earlier this year for $275,000. William Blevins’ Signal Hill Media Partners is acquiring “Country Legends 550” WAME Statesville, NC from the George H. Buck, Jr. Trust for $280,000. As part of the deal the trust will transfer 92.9 W225BD Statesville to its WHVN Inc. Once Blevins pays off the note for the acquisition he will acquire the translator for $10. Until then he will lease it for $1 per year to continue rebroadcasting WAME. Southern Belle and Seven Mountains Media continue their growth in Central Pennsylvania with the purchase of “Country 92.5” WJUN-FM Mexico and Classic Hits “Wheels 106.1” WLZS Beaver Springs from Radio Starview for $650,000.
