Flo 107.1 Denver Completes Shift To Rhythmic CHR

Max Media has completed its evolution of “Flo 107.1” KFCO Bennett/Denver CO from Classic Hip-Hop to Rhythmic CHR. The move pivots KFCO directly up against Entercom’s “KS 107.5” KQKS as the station added KS 107.5’s longtime morning show hosted by Larry Ulibarri and Kathie J last month. In the May 2018 Nielsen Audio ratings prior to the morning show change, KFCO registered a 0.8 share while KQKS was at a 3.8 share. Max Media Denver’s FLO 107.1 (KFCO) continues its year of exciting growth as it announced it has completed its evolution to a contemporary music position. “Over the past several months, FLO 107.1 has been spinning the top 10 rhythmic charting songs each week,” states Jeff Norman, President/General Manager, “now while listeners will n...[Read More]

Denver’s Classic Hip-Hop Now Has A Flo

Max Media has swiftly rebranded Classic Hip-Hop “Fly 107.1” KXDE Bennett/Denver as “FLO 107.1“. As these quick changes are normally associated with trademark infringement, did SiriusXM’s Classic Hip-Hop webcaster “SiriusXM Fly” lead to the rebranding? That company has “SiriusXM Fly” trademarked, but not “Fly” by itself. At least two terrestrial stations predate SiriusXM in using the moniker; Pamal CHR “Fly 92” WFLY Albany, NY and Alpha Media Variety Hits “Fly 92.9” WGTZ Dayton. Original Report 12/24: Max Media has flipped Classic Alternative “107X” 107.1 KXDE Bennett/Denver to the format du-jour of the season as it becomes Classic Hip-Hop “Fly 107.1“. Jack-FM Denver Is X’d Out

For the second time the Jack-FM brand has exited Denver as Max Media flips 107.1 KDHT Bennett, CO to Classic Alternative “107X“. Telling Westword that the station is “a wedge directly between KTCL and KBPI,” Program Director Brian DeGrasse states, “Jack FM just wasn’t doing it for us. We did a little market research and the programming people who work here in the building decided to form a station that plays classic alternative.” The station is focusing its playlist on songs from 1990 through 2010. Launching jockless with 5000 songs commercial-free through April 7, KDHT intends to utilize a service to allow all of the music to be selected by the listener. KDHT Denver Gets High

Max Media has dropped the Dance format at Denver rimshot “Hot 107.1” KDHT Bennett, CO. In its place its “Amendment 64 Radio” better known as “Pot 107.1“, celebrating Colorado legalization of marijuana. The format is the brainchild of Promotions expert Paige Nienaber, who for Max Media was responsible for stunts such as Stripper Radio “101.5 The Pole” in Denver and Chinese Hits “Kung Pao 100.5” in Norfolk. KDHT shifted from CHR to Dance in March, but has seen its ratings drop off after an early rise. It was down to a 0.6 share in the November monthly after being as high as 1.1 in September. Word is that there have been quite a few staffers let go from KDHT and sister Rhythmic Oldies “Jammin 101.5” KJHM today.
