Q107.1 Myrtle Beach Flips To Rock

Qantum Communications flipped Urban AC “Q107.1” WQSD to Rock at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 3 as “Rock 107” under new WRXZ calls. Mad Max, who used to host mornings at crosstown Rock WKZQ, will take the same shift at Rock 107. Sister Variety Hits WYNA “104.9 Bob-FM” PD Craig Russ will also oversee the new station.

Update 2/18/08: WQSD completed its change to Urban AC today as Q107.1. The station is airing the syndicated Steve Harvey in mornings, Doug Banks in afternoons, and Keith Sweat at night. Original Post 2/5/08: Qantum Communications has purchased Variety Hits “104.9 Bob-FM” WYNA Calabash, NC from Coastline Communications for $4 Million with an additional $1 Million if a proposed signal upgrade is approved.
