Former 98.5 KYGO Denver Program Director Eddie Haskell is moving up I-25 to serve as SVP/Programming for iHeartMedia in the adjacent Fort Collins market. Haskell served as PD of KYGO from January 2013 through August 2016 during the time upon which former KYGO morning host David Mueller was found to have groped Taylor Swift. Haskell stated on the witness stand that Mueller’s unfounded claim that he too had touched Swift that night had cost him some jobs following his exit from KYGO. Haskell previously spent nine years as OM of Citadel’s Albuquerque cluster where he programmed Country 92.3 KRST as well as programmed WYCD Detroit, KKAT-FM Salt Lake City, WXLK Roanoke, and KDJM Denver. Since leaving KYGO he has been focusing on his podcasts about Tesla cars and country artist inter...[Read More]

iHeartMedia has launched Christian AC “Up 107.3” K297AK Loveland CO/97.9 KXBG-HD2 Cheyenne WY. This is the second annual format change on December 26 for the translator, which debuted its now former AC “Sunny” identity one year ago today. The station had stunted both years with Christmas music as “Santa 107.3“. iHeart is launching “Up 107.3” with a “30 Day Christian Music Switch” challenge to draw listeners of secular stations as opposed to going after the established “K-Love“, “Air 1” and “Way-FM” networks that already are entrenched in the Northern Colorado marketplace.
If there’s one thing we know to expect every November most of the same stations that flipped to Christmas music last year and the year before that and the year before that will do so again this year. That is the primary reason we are no longer producing the list of all stations playing Christmas music. It is very predictable what station will play Christmas music in each market and that they will then return to their regular playlist as soon as the calendar changes to December 26. But there are still the stations that use the holiday music to clear out their previous audience and build attention for a format change after the holidays. Those are the stations we will be tracking. Completed Changes 12/28: American General Media Rhythmic CHR “Power 106.7” KAGM let go of its a...[Read More]
